"BRY, Johann Theodor de (1561-c.1623) and Johann Israel (d. 1611). [The Small Voyages], in Latin. Frankfurt: 1598-1601. 5 volumes in one, 2° (310 x 193mm). Each with letterpress title within engraved architectural border with allegorical figures, engravings with separate letterpress title, 10-line and smaller woodcut initials and headpieces. (First title mounted with closed tear and with fore-margin shaved and chipped, a few tears and chips, soiled, some browning, occasional scattered spotting, chips without loss of text in margins of B2 and H6, some dampstains.) 17th-century calf, panelled in blind with chain and floral tools (rebacked, extremities repaired, front joint repaired, endpapers soiled, three bookseller's descriptions tipped-in on front endpapers). Provenance: annotations in Latin by a number of early hands -- Schmidtchen (bookplate) -- William N. Senn (bookplate).
